Renewable Energy Business Development Program

The focus of the Renewable Energy Business Development Grant Program is to support the development, retooling, or expansion of renewable energy businesses and component manufacturers.

The Department will solicit and receive applications through a competitive Request-for-Application process.  Applications will be accepted until October 28th, 2011.  Proposed projects are eligible for grants up to 50 percent of total project cost, with a maximum grant award of $500,000.    Eligible expenditures include the purchase and installation of machinery, equipment and new industrial systems, project necessary site improvements, technical or engineering services for process improvements in key functions, and/or the conversion of existing processes.

For-profit businesses, governmental entities, colleges and universities, and not-for-profit organizations who are customers of an electric or gas utility that impose the Renewable Energy Resources and Coal Technology Development Assistance Charge are eligible to apply under this program.
