The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998, as amended, requires that the governor of each state submit a WIA/Wagner-Peyser (W-P) Act State Plan to the U.S. Department of Labor that outlines a five-year strategy for its workforce investment system. The Illinois Workforce Investment Board (IWIB) is requesting public comment on the Program Year (PY) 2012 – 2016 Workforce Investment Act (WIA)/Wagner-Peyser Act State Plan. The updated State Plan follows the new state planning instructions and questions included in the State Integrated Workforce Plan Requirements and TEGL No. 21-11.
The State Plan is being made available in order to elicit comments from interested parties. The state will submit the State Plan in accordance with guidelines published by the U.S. Department of Labor. Comments and suggestions must be provided to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to the following e-mail addresses:
