The Fall 2007 DCEO Peer Exchange was held in November at The Ramada BiState Bistro in Fairview Heights, Illinois. The DCEO Peer Exchange is conducted twice a year to bring community representatives, past program participants, governmental components, the Association of Professional Energy Consultants, energy providers, and other energy conservation professionals together in an exchange of ideas and accomplishments. This event was attended by 48 participants from throughout the state including representatives from utilities (Ameren, Com Ed, the Electric Coops & the Energy Education Council), state agencies (DCEO, EPA, CDB & the State Treasurer’s Office), the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation and energy consultants. Topics included present and future energy programs with an emphasis on business. The Keynote speaker at this two day conference discussed LEED for existing buildings. The next peer exchange will be held at Starved Rock Lodge & Conference Center near Utica, Illinois.
