The Fall 2008 DCEO Peer Exchange was held in November at The Starved Rock Lodge & Conference Center near Utica, Illinois. The DCEO Peer Exchange is conducted twice a year to bring community representatives, past program participants, governmental components, the Association of Professional Energy Consultants, energy providers, and other energy conservation professionals together in an exchange of ideas and accomplishments. This event was attended by approximately 100 participants from throughout the state including representatives from utilities (Ameren, Com Ed, the Electric Coops & the Energy Education Council), state agencies (DCEO, the IEPA & the Lt. Governor’s Office), the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation and energy consultants. Ameren Illinois Utilities, ComEd and DCEO reviewed ongoing program opportunities funded through the Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standards. Speakers presented an eye-opening overview of ‘phantom loads’ and offered possible corrective measures. Currently plans for the next peer exchange are under review.
